YSL ROUGE VOLUPTE LIPSTICK

I was in London a couple of weeks ago and whilst strolling through Selfridges, I spotted the YSL counter. If you've read my High End Makeup Wishlist post then you know I've been wanting a YSL lipstick forever! And in the moment surrounded by all the amazing makeup brands in Selfridge's makeup hall, I went for it. After swatching pretty much every lipstick, I went for a gorgeous sheer red colour. It's the Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick in the colour 4 - Rouge In Danger. It was £24 which I don't think is such a bad price for such a luxurious product.

The packaging is absolutely beautiful. I almost don't want to use it because it's just so precious. You can definitely tell it's a higher quality product. I keep it in it's box all the time because I want to keep it pristine! The actual lipstick is again, gorgeous. It's shine effect so it's a lot shinier and looks a bit like a gloss when you first put it on. The colour is definitely buildable and builds to a true red colour. The colour also lasts a long time. The shine obviously fades, but you're left with a really nice red stain. I think it looks a bit like Benetint from Benefit. Because of the shine formula, it's really moisturising and feels a lot like a lipbalm. However, if you do have chapped lips, it may show up and look a bit blotchy once the shine's gone.

Apologies for the bad lighting, but this just shows you how you can apply it sheer, or build it up for my colour.

1) My friend took us to a male strip show for her birthday! It was a really good night out - kind of awkward, but a great laugh!
2) I went to the London College of Fashion open day last week. It's the dream university for anyone that wants to study a fashion course.
3) I had the opportunity to go to the top of the Shard in London and the view was absolutely incredible!
4) I'm not a huge football fan, but I do support Chelsea and I went to see them play at Stamford Bridge a couple of weeks ago.
5) For Halloween this year, I went clubbing in Brighton and dressed as a cat - original I know!
6) I finally got a MacBook Pro, for college reasons of course…
7) I went to Thorpe Park with my boyfriend a couple of months ago. I'm a complete thrill-seeker - Stealth was definitely one of my favourite rides.
8) How cute is this Halloween candle from Yankee Candle?! It's candy corn and smells amazing.
9) A couple of months ago, I went to see McFly at the Royal Albert Hall with my boyfriend. I'm not a huge fan but he loves them and they were actually really good!

Trend Alert: Velvet

Autumn/Winter is my favourite time of year for fashion. Don't get me wrong, I love the summer and all that it brings but there's comes a time when I just want to snuggle up in a cosy jumper with a hot chocolate. That time has come in the UK. We have definitely said goodbye to the warm weather and it's started to get really quite chilly now. I love the new trends that are emerging from this season and I have looked around for the best ways to incorporate them into your wardrobe.

Velvet is everywhere at the moment. It was around a bit last winter but it has really become a huge trend for this season. It's one of those fabrics that can completely change the whole look and feel of an outfit; it gives a much more luxurious dimension to an otherwise plain outfit.

Here are some of my favourite velvet pieces for the moment.

black dress: motel / navy boots: missguided / red boots: jeffrey campbell / turban: river island / red leggings:  missguided / black playsuit: river island / velvet nails: superdrug / black hair scrunchie: topshop / red bralet top: missguided / navy skirt: boohoo / black kimono: topshop / red dungarees: missguided / red dress: missguided

Missguided are really on it with this trend and I personally feel like they're doing it the best at the moment. They have some really nice and unique pieces, like the dungarees and the red dress is to die for! Definitely go and check them out if you're looking for some key velvet pieces. I'm also loving velvet boots at the moment. Not so practical in the rain, I know, but they look amazing - especially the Jeffrey Campbell boots. If you're not quite so keen on going full on velvet, adding small touches like a velvet hairband or even the new Nail Rock velvet nail effect can be really nice too.

I personally love velvet - it's so Christmassy! However you choose to wear it, there are some really great pieces around at the moment so definitely check it out.

My personal style has changed so much over the past few months. I don't know why, but I've recently been making a lot more effort with my outfits than just throwing on whatever I can find. I'm trying to steer away from my usual monochrome wardrobe and I've been loving neon and different coloured pieces, which I feel like will be huge this summer. I'm planning a shopping trip to Oxford Street in the new few weeks so maybe these will be featuring in a haul soon!
Who else remembers wearing the awesome jelly shoes from the 90s?!

Bloglovin'

So over the past few days I've seen a lot of people going on about Google Friend Connect being disabled. I've read up about it and it's so unclear what's going on, but I just thought I'd share my Bloglovin account with you. I know a lot of people love it. So if you wish to follow me on this platfrom instead, feel free - just click on the little button below.

It's a super easy platform to use. You don't even need a blog to make an account and it's a really easy way to keep up with what all your favourite blogs are posting. You can also link your own blog and use it as a way for people to follow your posts too. Even if GFC doesn't disappear, it's a really handy site to use, and it even has it's own app so that you can read posts on the go. The only problem is that not everyone is aware of Bloglovin or has an account so it can be difficult with people you want to follow. But hopefully soon everyone will be able to use it and it will be a lot easier for everyone.
